Elekem manufactures glass filled PEEK tubes under the trade name TECAPEEK SM GF. In comparison to TECAPEEK SM Natural, TECAPEEK GF provides:
- Increased mechanical strength values
- Increased compressive strength
- Greater creep strength
- Higher rigidity
- Enhanced dimensional stability
- Reduction in thermal expansion and shrinkage
However, glass filled PEEK is not advised for sliding friction applications due to the abrasive effect of the added glass fibres.
Filler ratio can be adjusted for customised application requirements.
